Organization Updates

As we step into 2026, I am filled with profound gratitude as I reflect on everything we accomplished together in 2025. Despite economic challenges and global uncertainties, our community showed remarkable resilience, and our programs reached more people than ever before.

By the Numbers: 2025 Impact

Here are the highlights of what we achieved together:

  • Education: 356 children enrolled in our Education Centre, with a 94% retention rate
  • Feeding Program: 152,400 nutritious meals served throughout the year
  • Women Empowerment: 312 women participating in table banking groups, with KES 2.4 million in collective savings
  • Mental Health: 847 individuals received MHPSS services, including 234 specialized counseling referrals
  • Child Rescue: 18 new children brought into our residential care, 7 successfully reintegrated with families
  • Community Outreach: 2,440 individuals served across all programs

Financial Transparency

We remain committed to transparency and accountability. In 2025:

  • 87% of all funds went directly to program implementation
  • 8% supported administrative operations
  • 5% went to fundraising and development

Our full audited financial report is available upon request for donors and partners.

Challenges We Faced

2025 was not without difficulties. Rising food costs strained our feeding program budget. We also faced staff transitions that required significant onboarding and training investment. Despite these challenges, we maintained program quality through careful budget management and the dedication of our team.

Looking Ahead to 2026

In the coming year, we plan to:

  • Expand our Education Centre capacity to serve 400 children
  • Launch a vocational training program for youth aged 18-24
  • Strengthen our mental health services with additional trained counselors
  • Establish a small business incubator for women in our empowerment program

A Message of Thanks

None of this would be possible without youour donors, volunteers, partners, and well-wishers. You are the foundation upon which we build hope for the Mathare community.

As I often say, "Pendo" means love in Swahili. And it is loveyour lovethat powers everything we do.

With deepest gratitude,
