MAMA AFRICA PENDO
Transforming Lives, Building Hope
10+ Years
of Impact
"Every child deserves a chance to thrive, every family deserves support, and every community deserves hope. This is not just work—it's a calling."
Miss Mary Njeru is a compassionate visionary whose deep understanding of the challenges faced by families in informal settlements sparked the creation of Mama Africa Pendo on 15th March 2015.
What began with nine malnourished children has grown into a thriving organization supporting over 350 children daily. Mary's unwavering commitment has transformed countless lives, creating pathways out of poverty.
Mary witnessed the devastating impact of poverty on children in informal settlements. Her vision: create a safe space where vulnerable children could access education, nutrition, and holistic care.
In March 2015, Mary started with limited resources but unlimited compassion. She opened a small day-care program for nine malnourished children, providing meals, healthcare, and basic needs.
From 9 to 350+ children, from one program to ten comprehensive initiatives. Strategic partnerships with Toyota Kenya and UNDP have amplified the organization's reach significantly.
True transformation begins when people are treated with dignity and respect.
Capacity building—equipping families with skills to become self-sufficient.
Collaborations with Toyota Kenya, UNDP and others for expanded impact.
Annual audits and robust policy frameworks for financial accountability.

"When I look at the faces of the children we serve, I see potential, resilience, and hope. Every child who walks through our doors carries dreams that deserve to be nurtured."
"The journey from 9 children to over 350 has been nothing short of miraculous. But we are just getting started."
